Half-Day Dublin Tours Include:

There are a multitude of things to see in our fine city. Our half day tour will bring you to see Trinity College Dublin, founded by Elizabeth I in 1592. Set in the heart of the city it is a nice place to escape the hustle and bustle outside. Centuries worth of architectural styles chart the evolution of the College. Dublin's most popular attraction, the Book of Kells, is housed in the magnificent Old Library which is also open to the public. The Book of Kells is a stunning illuminated manuscript from c. 800 A.D. Started by monks at St. Columba's Monastery on the remote Scottish isle of Iona, it was brought by the monks to Kells in 806 after repeated raids on Iona by Viking raiders. It has been in Trinity since 1654.

Viking and Medieval Dublin

A tour of Viking Dublin brings you to where our 'Fair City' sprang into life. The Vikings settled in Dublin over a thousand years ago and turned Dublin into an important centre for trade. The name Dublin comes from 'Dubh Linn' meaning 'Black Pool' after a pool where the Vikings sheltered their longboats. Visit the oldest streets with names like Fishamble St., Cook St. and Winetavern St., named after the trades that were carried out there centuries ago. Hear about slave trading, fierce battles with the Irish and the arrival of the Normans.

See Dublin Castle where the Normans built their first stronghold and visit two cathedrals within sight of each other. Hear why this happened, being as it was, unique in Latin Christendom.

Georgian Dublin

See the beautiful Georgian Squares and houses that were built when Dublin was at its peak. See the homes of Oscar Wilde, Bram Stoker and the Duke of Wellington.
